The Intercontinental Music Awards extends the AFRIMMA vision for African Artists

The Ambassador of the InterContinental Music Awards for Africa, Dr Mercy Alu, recently held a productive meeting with Mr. Anderson Obiagwu, CEO, African Music Magazine Awards (commonly abbreviated as AFRIMMA), on the need to support and reward notable, well-established and promising upcoming African Artists. Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, are some of the notable artists whose music have successfully crossed into the U.S mainstream music industry with a special thanks to “Big A”, as Mr. Obiagwu is called.

AFRIMMA is proud of this vision of giving African musicians a platform on the international stage, and these mentioned artists along with so many others such as Awilo Longomba, 2 Baba etc have received special recognition at the AFRIMMA Awards. Now, the Intercontinental Music Awards (ICMA), shares similar values of encouraging Artists from different parts of the world, including African Artists to be nominated and potentially win an international music award, out of Hollywood.

The Intercontinental Music Awards (ICMA) is a globally inclusive music award that offers the opportunity to be heard by top music executives and notable personalities in the industry, including mentorship and artist growth as part of the package for nominees/winners. The 11th Annual ICMA Awards ceremony will take place on August 27th, 2023
