Within the four walls of their school, they met, drawn to each other by their passion for music. They spent most of their spare time together working on melodies and rhymes not knowing they were being steered by the wheels of destiny. They started as a five-man team but after their debut release, two of the founding members went on pursue solo careers.
Today, (over fourteen years later) they have evolved into one of the most prominent groups on the continent of Africa; they are called INFINITY. Three young men; Nnogo Samson, Sunny Steven and Joseph Robert Okougbo
Infinity is focused on bridging the extremity between art and Spirit by producing music with high standards, merging the peak of art with an in-depth spiritual influence. Infinity’s style of music cannot be boxed into a particular genre since they write songs as inspired, ranging from R&B, Soul, Rock, Fuji, Afro-Beat, Traditional folk, etc so at best their style of music can be branded as “ECLECTIC”.
They have performed before the President(s) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and at other notable events such as the BIG BROTHER NIGERIA EVICTION PARTY, SWEET SENSATION’S 10th year anniversary, THE ANNUAL DANCE MEETS DANCE FESTIVAL, RHYTHM UNPLUGGED, MUSIC AFRICA ANNUAL CONCERT, corporate events for MTN, FCMB, NIGERIAN BREWRIES, NLNG and others.
They also graced the stage at the 70th Birthday party of His Royal Majesty OBA Dr. ADEDAPO ADEWALE TEJUOSO CON, KARUNWI III ORANMIYAN OSILE, OKE-ONA EGBA. They have also toured the United Kingdom where they performed to an audience of 50 million people across the globe, LIVE and broadcast at the KICC London convention. They also staged two shows of their own there.
Their hit single Olori Oko which heralded the release of their debut album of the same title, has claimed the number one spot on virtually all the charts locally and is also getting international acclaim in different parts of the world. It has also become a massive hit in terms of sales. Their song and its artistic video, won the video of the decade at the NIGERIA MUSIC AWARDS, best editing (musical video) Amen Awards, Best CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL ALBUM and BEST NEW GROUP at the AMEN Awards.
They also bagged the best cultural video award-Inspirational (AFRIQUE EXOTICA in conjunction with the the ministry of tourism and culture, the best (Gospel) singing group of the year 2006 (TWC), HOGA award for their contribution to charity. The work OLORI OKO also bagged seven awards at the 2007 edition of the NIGERIAN MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS which include best all round video, best indigenous concept in a music video, best choreographed music video, best gospel music video, best edited music video and best directed music video. They got several nominations at the Hip-hop world awards, City people awards, Nigeria Entertainment Award and a host of others.
The were nominated in 5 categories at the SMVA awards the categories include BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY, BEST DIRECTED, BEST DUO/GROUP VIDEO, BEST SPECIAL EFFECTS/EDITING & VIEWERS CHOICE.
Here they bagged the awards for best duo or group and best special effects/editing. The were nominated for the last two editions of KORA AWARDS for the category of BEST ARTIST/GROUP, AFRICA and BEST GOSPEL GROUP.
They recently concluded their 2nd album titled, “BEYOND INFINITY”. The album is being warmly received by their fans and also put out a creative video for the single “press on” from the 2nd album which has already bagged several awards.
