If ever there was doubt about the demand for Cardi B‘s new album – the follow-up to her history-making debut LP, ‘Invasion of Privacy’ – the ongoing success of the forthcoming set’s first two singles should silence it.

As if making a splash with the wave of wins afforded to ‘WAP’ wasn’t enough, Cardi followed the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted single with a solo #1 hit, ‘Up’ (making her the first female rapper to accrue five Hot 100 #1 hits over her career).

Now, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is showering the hits with even more good news.

Details inside:

On July 12, the RIAA updated its logs to reveal ‘WAP’ had reached 6x Platinum status – a measure indicative of 6 million units sold in the United States alone.  It’s the third single of her career to be certified as high and follows the Diamond (10x Platinum) success of her debut hit, ‘Bodak Yellow,’ and the 9x Platinum standing of her Bad Bunny & J. Balvin-assisted smash, ‘I Like It.’

Other news B will like is the recently reported 2x Platinum status of ‘Up.’  Announced July 14, the song stands as her 12th multiPlatinum hit.

Together, the certifications extend Cardi’s reign as the most-certified female rapper of the digital era.  She now sits at a career total of 47 million singles sold in the United States alone.

Among all female acts, only Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Rihanna have sold more.
