PJ Mistic
Pring’ar Joy aka Pj Mistic is an Afrocentric hiphop artist from Jos, Nigeria. She started her journey in music from the children’s choir in her church and grew into a recording and performing artist in 2004 with her first single “Juju” that shook the airwaves. And has since then dropped so many other singles and political jingles. P.J is actually the acronymn of her name – Pring’ar Joy, while the Mistic was added by friends who thought her very optimistic attitude and values should be part of her name. Her journey through music over the years has earned her several awards in different categories/genre of music.
PJ Mistic is also a Fashionpreneur with the fashion brand “ATAMPA-YANGA” by PJ Mistic. A brand that is passionate about giving the plus sized woman a sense of style and confidence in what fits her, instead of body-shaming her.
She is also a public speaker and a strong advocate for the girl child/woman, and has worked with so many NGOs in this regard. She empowers and inspires women globally to pursue their dreams and inspire people around them to do same. Till they are all a great force to be reckoned within their society.
Awards
In 2021, her song “Arabaribity” won the Jogama Green Awards “Best Traditional Afro fusion and style song/video” of the year. In 2022, The Mayor awards gave her the award for the best female vocalist of the year. In the same year, Arabaribity won the the African Praise Music Awards’ best Afro Music Video of the year. In 2023, Her personality and influence among other things earned her another recognition award called the “Top 100 Change Maker’s award”.
